"Alborada del gracioso". Complete edition of the percussion parts.

“Alborada del gracioso”, by Maurice Ravel, started as the fourth number in his piano suite “Miroirs”. It was writen between 1904 and 1905 and, at the request  of Diáguilev, it was orchestrated in 1918, becoming since then a staple in the symphonic repertoire. It is a colorful work, of great technical difficulty and very demanding for the orchestra.

The problem is that the particelle present many mistakes and, taking into account that we have been using the same edition since it was published, they have been perpetuated.

As I have played this wonderful work several times lately, I have decided to work on it, cleaning the parts, making corecctions and preparing my own edition. I still could not finish the adenda explaining all my decisions, but it will be ready in the near future.

Here you have the timpani and percussion parts of “Alborada del Gracioso”:

Fell free to use them. Do not hesitate to contact me should you find a mistake, want to suggest something or include any improvement. Please tag me on social media so I know where in the world this edition is being played.
